Council Annual Dinner – Register by June 1!

The 2017 Council Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner is just a week away! Make plans to join us on Wednesday, June 7 at the Gateway Center in Collinsville, IL. The highlight of the evening is the Silver Beaver Award Ceremony.
The Annual Meeting (for Board Members and Chartered Organization Representatives) begins at 4:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, adjacent to the Annual Dinner facility.
The Annual Recognition Dinner begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Gateway Center. Check-in starts at 5:30 p.m.
*If you are a board member, past Silver Beaver recipient, James E. West Fellow, or member of the Square Knot Society, Eagle Scout Association, Alumni Association, or Emerging Leaders Network, please plan to join us for a private reception in the Mississippi Room at the Gateway Center at 5:15 p.m.

Council Recognition Dinner

Join us for this late-spring event, which is open to all GSLAC Scouters, highlighted by the presentation of the year’s Silver Beaver Awards. The Silver Beaver Award is the highest recognition a Boy Scout council can bestow on an adult volunteer leader. The award is presented to those volunteers who have provided noteworthy service that impacts the lives of youth and and has made outstanding contributions to the Scouting program.

2017 Annual Business Meeting

Please note: The council’s annual business meeting takes place prior to the recognition dinner.

The purpose of the annual business meeting is to receive annual reports; elect members-at-large, associate and honorary members, National Council members, regular members of the executive board, and officers of the corporation; receive and approve financial reports and statements; and transact other business. Voting by proxy is not permitted; nominations and resolutions are not taken from the floor.

Any resolutions to be discussed during the annual business meeting must be forwarded in writing by May 26, 2017, to the Programs and Resolutions Committee, Greater St. Louis Area Council–Boy Scouts of America, 4568 West Pine Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63108-2193.

Nominations for all elective positions should also be sent to the council office by May 26.

68th Annual Jefferson Barracks Good Turn – Sunday, May 28th

Scouts of all ages are invited to participate in the Memorial Day Good Turn. Check-in for Jefferson Barracks Good Turn, hosted by the Gravois Trail District, runs from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in front of Building 24 on the Missouri National Guard Base adjacent to the ceremony. The procession from the National Guard Base to the cemetery will begin at 12:30 p.m. Upon check-in, the unit leader will receive a unit participation ribbon. A Memorial Day Good Turn patch will be available for $3; segment patch is 50 cents. Please click the link for more information and registration.

2017 Summer Camps

Every summer thousands of Scouts from all over the region participate in the biggest event of their Scout year, summer camp. During June and July, all four of the Greater St. Louis Area Council’s camp properties come alive with Scouting fun, adventure and advancement opportunities.

Summer camp is where area Scouts gather once a year to make lifelong friends and memories while experiencing the great outdoors and developing valuable lasting skills.
